So I went and saw "Pirate Radio" (AKA "The Boat That Rocked") on Saturday night. I went to the movies tired and not expecting anything special. I had only seen a few previews and had mentally added it to my que, but "Pirate Radio" wasn't that high up on the list. I picked it because I wasn't in the mood to see "Precious" and "Blindside" isn't out yet. I have to say it was the best movie I've seen all year. The cast was amazing (Tom Stu can talk! Philip Seymour Hoffman's character reminded me a bit of his character in "Almost Famous", but that may have also been because of his wardrobe), the story was great, it was funny, the soundtrack was awesome, and I feel like I learned some history. If it's playing by you, I highly suggest you see it! If you've already seen it, what did you think?? I'd love to talk about it. Or, if you haven't seen it & still want to talk, what do you think was the best movie you've seen this year?

Also, I know The Fantastic Mr. Fox came out this weekend and next weekend some good looking movies are premiering (ahem, BLINDSIDE...seriously excited to see this. Can't you tell? 2 mentions in 1 most. Plus, every time I see this commercial I tear up, so I'll be bringing a box of tissues to the theatre with me), so let's chat.

i really want to see pirate radio, i haven't been to the movies in such a long time. last thing i saw in theaters was Where The Wild Things Are, and it was pretty amazing. i loved the director's work.
but my friends got me to rent some british film called Death At A Funeral. it's the funniest thing i've ever seen, since i love the twisted and crazy brit's sense of humor. i've never laughed more at any movie or tv show, probably.
Well, Saw New Moon last night with friends. Saw Taylor's real abs, Robert's Painted on abs and constapated expression, Kirsten's I'm-so-high-I'm-flying face, and the dude who plays Charlie's pimpin mustache. ^^
It is very sad, but in a heart warming way.

I hated The Boat That Rocked (Pirate Radio to the US).
I don't know why, i just kept waiting and waiting for something interesting and original and it never came.
I haven't seen anything particularly amazing in ages. I went to the cinema last night to watch Paranormal Activity which was hugely disappointing. I saw New Moon last week which was ok, not great. The best movie I can think this year is either Zombieland or The Hangover.
I don't think I'd like Pirate Radio because its made by the same people/person who made Four Weddings and Notting Hill, I really hate those types of films. I swear british people are not like that, I do not know one person who like Hugh Grant and I am british. Bill Nighy is a god though :D
