In an attempt to join their distinct genre, style, and sound with the songs of their youth, Four Year Strong's sophomore, full-length cover album "Explains It All" follows the more recent trend set forth by many bands. Despite the trendiness and frequency of "Pop-Goes-Punk" covers in recent history, Four Year Strong wanted to introduce fans to their unique, pop punk/happy hardcore versions in one of the first 90's tribute albums on the market. Songs of the likes of "Spiderwebs" (originally by No Doubt), "Semi Charmed Life" (originally by Third Eye Blind), and "She's So High" (originally by Tal Bachman), made the diversity of song selection the primary key to keeping the album from sounding like 'just another cover band'. Jake Massucco's hardcore drum style mixed with the pop, up-beat sound of their song choice and excellent dual vocals, as well as solid instrumentals between Dan O'Connor and Alan Day, Four Year Strong represented the 90's decade with a new energy and flair that you couldn't even feel from the original tracks.
