Yes, finaly a place to display my frustration. A place where i feel it can be taken in, and related to by other Cobra Fans. I know that many other people out there hold the same feelings as me. I've spent hours and hours reading other blogs and comments about Cobra's new found world wide fame, and how it makes the true Cobra Fans feel. I would just like to say that I, am a TRUE Cobra Fan. I've seen them 4 times live, and yes, it was BEFORE Hot Mess. Don't get me wrong, Hot Mess was truly epic. Great music, Great sound, Great everything. I'm not here to say that ANY of this is Cobra's fault. They don't know how to satisfy everyone - true Cobra's, and new commers to the scene. Afterall, they're just following they're dream, and i am soo happy for them, i mean they really do deserve this. Theyre music can make anybody " move like they're gonna die ". But that doesn't change the fact that 12 year olds are now "lusting" over Gabe. It just drives me nuts ! I've met Gabe twice, both before Hot Mess released, and HOLY SHIT it was great. But it wasn't great because i was a fucking screaming little girl (which im sure he sees alot of now). It was great because i could actualy have a decent conversation with him, something that i found impossible to do at the OP presents tour ( after Hot Mess). Now once again, i am not saying that Cobra's stardome has made them arrigent or cocky, it's everyone else that makes it close to impossilbe to meet them now. Cobra Starship made me fall inlove with live music 2 and a half years ago when i saw them live for the very first time. Every single one of them make the experience soo worth while. But it is unbeleivably frustrating to feel like i have to compete with Hannah Montana loving 12,13,14,15 even my aged girls/guys. I for one, hate following trends, and right now Cobra feels like a fucking trend. I hate it when other people start to listen to the undiscovered bands that i do, but Cobra Starship - my all time favourite band.. that's just the worst! The point when it occured to me how angry this whole thing made me was when i was at work.. i was talking to my associate about the upcoming show i was going to, i told her the bands that were playing ( Cobra was one of them). She replyed " Oh i dont know any of them.." I answered " ok.. Good Girls Go Bad .." knowing that she'd know who i was talking about. She then said " OMG I FRICKEN LOVE THEM." I lost it.. No, you don't love them. You love what the record label is making them out to be - a group of sexy dicks and one bad ass chick who love to make people shake their mother fucking ass'. Which, let's face it, is what they are (but with a whole lot more). I gladly spoke my mind to her as well, then gave her a list of other amazing songs by Cobra.. it's not that i don't want any one to know who they are.. because that ship has clearly sailed. But if people say that they "love" Cobra Starship, then atleast make sure that you fucking love them. I'd rather help people out and get their old material out there as well, then see the band that we all know and love, and have watched come this far become a 1 or 2 hit wonder. So what do ya say we throw some good old Church of Hot Addiction in their faces and see if they really do love Cobra Starship ? They're doing all they can to try to keep everyone satisfied ( although alittle more meet & greet time would be much appreciated ), so we've got to stand by them no matter what. They're just living the dream.
So for now.. Fangs Up; Cobra Star
