So we had an "off-day" from Warped Tour on Monday, and while most of the other bands were at hotels, lounging by the pool, we were in NYC, doing press and whatnot. We ended the day with an evening performance on the rooftop of the Virgin/EMI building in Manhattan. Really, really fun. First time I've ever done something like that. I was kinda hoping the cops were gonna get called and we would get arrested, but alas, nothing so cool happened.

The worst part of the "off-day" was for our crew; even though they got to enjoy a nice free meal, while they were setting up our stage and equipment in the hot sun on the roof, we were in the nice Virgin artist lounge, playing the piano, singing songs, drinking beer & scotch, and doing interviews. And making fun of our manager. (Just kidding; we love you Steve.) It's especially hard to have to be in the sun all day on an off-day when yer in the sun all day on Warped. Whiskerz (our tech) takes the worst of it; our merch guy gets to sit under a tent all day.

We ended the night by getting even more drunk in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Seacaucus, NJ, where we parked our bus for the day & night. I think I drank at least half a liter of scotch between 6p and 1a. I was a beautiful mess, let me tell you. There were many cigarettes being smoked out in the rain, and many laughs to be had. And most of them were directed at me. I guess I'm an easy target. :)
