So we've been in Canada the past few days and we're loving it. Canada has a soft spot in my heart for personal reasons, but beyond that, most people I've met in Canada are extremely friendly, welcoming, and hospitable. Excluding some of the folks working at the venue today in Montreal; they clearly don't like Americans and have been slightly rude to us. One of them almost ran me over with a golf cart because I couldn't understand him yelling in French-Canadian drivel; he was evidently yelling for me to move out of his way.

The fans in Montreal, however, were WAY cool. And I smell a lot more weed being smoked at the shows up here in Canada than I do in the states. And they have great health care. But the vast majority of the Canadian population lives within 200km of the US border, so I think they secretly want to be Americans but love being Canadian too much.

I've been checking out more and more of the bands on the tour; I last mentioned Far from Finished and Closure in Moscow, who are both great bands, albeit completely different. I'd to paint some more contradiction and tell you all to check out Reverend Payton's Big Damn Band (which is such a great name because they're a three-piece; it might be due to their larger physical size...either way, they're an awesome band and great people). You should also check out our label-mates in You Me at Six; they're a straight-ahead, driving rock/pop band from London. Nice guys and a great sound. They bring me back to my Swervedriver obsession. If you guys don't know Swervedriver, you need to hear them ASAP!! Their album Mescalhead is in my top ten of all time. They hugely influenced me as a teenager.
