So in my Nature Study class we had to close our eyes and imagine we were our favorite animal. We imagined what we were doing, where we were, where we lived, the time of day it was. Then after we were told to open our eyes, we had to write a poem about it, good thing it didn't need to rhyme. So here is mine its on a black panther.

Trees surround me everywhere I go

There's no escaping them

It's where I live

I see one branch in another tree

It's quite a distance away

Who cares, I'm going for it anyway

I jump with the greatest ease

Piece of cake

I'm completely silent

No noise must I make

For I must hunt for food

The pain of my hunger hits me

With every step I take

But yet I still move ever so slyly

So my prey won't hear me

Until I pounce on them

I smell something

Nothing like any of the prey I've had before

Got to be from those human's house

Just beyond the trees

I have to stay focus

On the task at hand

Looking, stalking quietly for my food

But the hunger is great

It's killing me inside

I have to remember

Mind over matter

That will do the trick

Good thing my stomach doesn't growl

Like those human's stomachs

That way I can quietly stalk the prey
