"Rejoice, rejoice and fall to your knees."

I haven't been on in a while. I don't exactly know what to say. I've never blogged before. This is an interesting adventure.

So I'll start with what's going on with me. Many things, actually. I should probably *maybe* go change out of my I <3 NY pajama pants sometime into actual clothing soon, as it is almost time for lunch. But that's no fun. And, besides, I'm comfortable sitting here, browsing FOE, listening to my new love, Jimmy Eat World (shut up, I just discovered them. I heard Paramore obsess over them all the time but never really listened to anything and Pandora kept shuffling a bunch of their songs to me, and I was like "YAY they're good."). I just went through all the unsigned artists on the Unsigned Artist group. It took me the good part of an hour, but I love discovering new music, especially smaller bands, so it wasn't too bad.

The weather outside is really pretty today. It's a gorgeous day here in the wonderful city of Chicago. The sun is coming down in shafts. Last night on the news they told us it feels more like October than November. Maybe that's a good thing. October is my favorite month. It's so beautiful, with the leaves turning golden and falling off the trees. But I think I'm really ready for the cold. I like cold weather better than warm. I don't know what it is. I also like darkness better than light. I'm a nocturnal being. There's something comforting, for me, at least about darkness and cold. Wow, that sounds really emo.

The night is so exciting to me. It feels like another world comes alive, with the city lights twinkling and music pumping from venues and clubs. There's something secretive and beautiful about the night. Something almost forbidden, but still alluring. As for cold, I don't know what I like about it. Maybe the fact that it seems like it's easier to cuddle up with someone, or just relax under a blanket, watching the windy or snowy outside, holding a mug tea or hot chocolate. It's simply a comforting thing, in either situation. Maybe that's just because I grew up here. I don't know.

Oh, and let me just say I'm so glad Mondayeyes it back on FOE. I can't wait to submit some of my poetry. But probably not this month, with NaNo and all that crazy stuff...

Something else fun and stressful going on in my life - NaNoWriMo. Or better known as National Novel Writing Month (www.nanowrimo.org). It's a program where you write a 50,000 word novel in the course of a month. This is their 11th anniversary and my 4th year striving for the 50k. So, we're gonna see how that goes. So far, I've been staying on track and doing all right, but... who knows...

I also felt like a huge musical dork this week. I just got Bloc Party's "Intimacy" and was simply stunned by the insert. It was so simplistic, but so beautiful. The photography was amazing. It fit the record perfectly. I was so excited with the amazingness of it I couldn't stop looking at it and just thinking about how I wanted to create something as cool as this for my future records when I finally get into a band, because it was just so AWESOME. Then I stopped, thought about what I had just thought, and was like... "Oh. Maybe this isn't normal."

So. That's pretty much my this-is-what-is-happening-right-now and let's-talk-about-whatever-pops-into-my-mind dump. I apologize if these posts tend to get rambly. I like to ramble.

*******SONG OF THE POST*********

"From Now On We Are Enemies" by Fall Out Boy. Yes, I know the song isn't released yet, but I found this video on YouTube where someone uploaded it (the ENTIRE track). It is by far, my favorite Fall Out Boy song. It's very simplistic. Not much synth or distortion, but beautiful and diverse. Patrick's vocals go above and beyond anything he's ever done, and it makes the song even more beautiful. I can't wait until next week to actually get my hands on it (I only want what I can't have, lol).

Here's a link to the video. Enjoy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DCQ94j93u8Y
