This is the official music video of “Turn It Up” by Taryn Manning, directed by Hellin Kay.
Taryn Manning started her career as an actress in the early 1990’s and played small roles in television shows like NYPD Blue and The Practice. Manning made her film debut in the drama Crazy/Beautiful. Other movies Manning can be seen in are, Crossroads, White Oleander, and A Lot Like Love. Today, Manning can be seen in the CBS hit drama “Hawaii Five-0.”
In 2003, Manning and her brother started a band called Boomkat, which was signed a major label deal to the American Idol Judge, Randy Jackson. The deal fell through but the pop/dance band music was still heard in Gap commercials and 8 Mile. The band even produced a #1 hit call “The Wreckoning.”
In 2009, after Boomkat’s long hiatus, Manning announced her solo career. She wanted to be more of a pop and dance artist, rather than Boomkat’s darker and experimental albums.
The singer/actress is also working on a clothing line, so be sure to watch out for this triple threat.
